We were on the road, but the sun was setting and the sky coloring up so vibrantly, there was nothing to be done except to pull over to the side of the road and enjoy it.

Sun Gazing is the practice of looking at the sun when it is low in the sky, either sunrise or sunset. Some purported benefits of Sun Gazing are increased energy, improved sleep, positive mood, stronger immune system. Whether or not sun gazing can achieve all of the above, there is no denying that viewing the sunrise or sunset is a very uplifting experience.

Laura Fasulo is an artist and fine art photographer. She uses a variety of media including film and digital photography, drawing, painting, and digital art. She attended Manhattan's School of Visual Arts, where she was immersed in the city's extensive culture as well as its historic and contemporary art scenes. As a child she assisted her father, in astro-photography. Viewing and taking photos of the stars and planets with her Dad taught her about family, photography and science and instilled in her a fascination with the night sky. She credits her father also for her long-term status as a night owl.
