Description
The legend of once affordable on street parking in the city. Witness a vintage NYC Parking meter that only takes coins. A quarter would by you 2 hours of parking, 2 quarters would buy you 4 hours of worry-free parking, before you would need to feed the meter. Current parking rates in NYC range from $1.25 to $7.50 per hour and all meters now take NYC parking cards and various credit cards as well as coins.

Remember the sax solo from Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street?
Winding your way down on Baker Street
Light in your head and dead on your feet
Well, another crazy day
You'll drink the night away
And forget about everything
This city desert makes you feel so cold
It's got so many people, but it's got no soul
And it's taken you so long
To find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything
