Description
A force of nature, the moon lights the night and governs the tides. The power of the moon may have some influence on tropical storms. Ancient myths made her a goddess, perhaps she still is. Formed by a chunk of our Earth billions of years ago she is drifting away at almost 4 cm. per year. Can the moon drive you mad? The word lunatic comes from the latin word for moon, Luna.
The full moon rising behind some scattered cloud cover at the Juno Pier. The October full moon is known as the hunter's moon, blood moon and sanguine moon. A Penumbra eclipse was taking place at this time. TheEarth's shadow falls across the mood creating a subtle darkening and coloring which can be seen in the red rimmed clouds.
